Title Tips: No CPLs When the Closing Is Not Done by ATG or an ATG Agent

Effective Date:
Tuesday, October 9, 2012 - 1:30pm

ATG does not issue a Closing Protection Letter (CPL) when the closing is not being conducted by ATG or an ATG issuing agent. To make sure that ATG’s records reflect that no CPL fees will be remitted, in the ATG REsource file, please select “89999 3rd party remove CPL” as the closer in the Order Entry section. Additionally, for traditional members who conduct their own closings and write their own final policies, when sending in policies and premiums to ATG, check the box on the Accounting Information Schedule for “No Closing Protection Letter. Member/ATG did not close.” Without taking these two steps, ATG’s Policy Records Department will not know that no fees should be remitted and you could be billed for CPLs.
