Temporary Visitor’s Driver’s Licenses
A new Illinois law, Public Act 97-1157, creates a new form of driver’s license, the temporary visitor’s driver’s license. The act states that the license may not be used as proof of identity. This means that closers may not accept the new temporary visitor’s driver’s license at closing as proof of identity. Please make a note of this and continue to require state driver’s licenses or state identification cards of parties at closing.
