The Monroe County Clerk and Recorder's office recently announced the availability of e-recording. In light of COVID-19 circumstances and also given the general trend toward electronic means of conducting business, this is welcome news.

The Monroe County Recorder's office processes e-recorded documents each business day 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. using these two vendors:

  • Simplifile is the only e-recording service that can be used to record all document types, including deeds and transfer on death documents.
  • CSC can be used to record everything except deeds and transfer on death documents. Monroe County is working with CSC to set up deeds but is a few weeks away from implementation.

For those unable to submit documents using one of the above e-recording platforms, Monroe County offers options:

  • Send documents via US Mail (please be aware of processing delays).
  • Deliver documents in person on Thursdays from 12 noon - 12:15 p.m. at the door on the north side of the Monroe County courthouse.

For more information, check the Monroe County website Land Records page or contact the Monroe County Clerk’s office, 618.939.8681.
