ATG / Advocus was founded on the premise that consumers need an attorney-advocate when purchasing or selling a home. Today, we believe attorney-involvement in real estate transactions is at risk:

• We are seeing more transactions where sellers and their lawyers are being told to order title work from a specific company. This violates the Title Insurance Act and RESPA.

• There is a trend toward non-lawyers acting as title agents, which poses risks if they lack proper training and skills to perform core title services.
